Dried Fruit Compote

Combine California raisins with other dried fruits for a rich treat.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 c. (5.5 ounces) mixed dried fruit
  • 3/4 c. California raisins
  • 1-1/2 c. water
  • 2-1/2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1-1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 orange, thinly sliced
PROCEDURE
Combine mixed dried fruits and raisins together in a 1-quart casserole. Add water. Cover and bake at 325°F for 1 hour. Add sugar and lemon juice, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Add orange slices. Serve warm or chill and serve topped with a spoonful of sour cream.
