Research at the University of Illinois at Chicago Dental School in 2005
showed that the antioxidants in California Raisins inhibit growth of
mouth bacteria. Thus, even though raisins may stick to tooth surfaces,
the compounds in raisins do not promote the growth of decay-causing
bacteria.
